I particularly enjoyed the thoughts expressed by Holly Miller. Many of the verses were philosophiocal with spiritualor religious overtones. Good to read, put down, pick up and read again.

About the Author
Paul Goransson is Founder and Chairperson of the Elbrys Networks where he currently leads corporate strategy and directs Elbrys' Intellectual Property portfolio. A serial entrepreneur who has led two boot-strap start-up companies through successful acquisitions by industry giants - Qosnetics by Hewlett Packard (1999) and Meetinghouse by Cisco (2006). Paul held senior management positions with Agilent Technology’s Advanced Networks Division and Cisco's Wireless Networking Business UnitPaul co-authored the book “Roaming Securely in 802.11 Networks” as well as numerous articles in technical journals related to computer networking. He is often an invited speaker at technical conferences.

Chuck Black has over 35 years of experience in the field of computer networking, working in research
and development labs for Hewlett-Packard for most of that time before becoming co-founder of Tallac
Networks, a Software Defined Networking startup. Most recently he has been training engineering
staff and customers of major networking vendors in the areas of developing SDN applications. He has
been the innovator and creator of multiple networking products for HP in the area of Network Access
Control and Security, and holds eleven patents in these areas. Prior to this work, he developed products
in the field of Network Management for HP’s software organization. In the early days of local area
networking, he was author of some of the first network topology discovery applications in the industry.
Black holds a BS and MS in Computer Science from California Polytechnic State University, San Luis
Obispo.

Good introduction to Software Defined Networks

This book is a good introduction to Software Defined Networks. It provides a broad view of the emerging market trend and provides real world examples from vendors and how they are trying to meet the requirements. You will walk away with an understanding of how existing vendors are using their current interfaces to try to meet the SDN specification for switches and routers. There is a good section on the open software reference designs and how companies are trying to bring compliant version to market. Over all a very good introduction. What this book isn't is a text on configuring and using a SDN. Look elsewhere for that!

I am an adjunct faculty at the University of Texas at Dallas. I set out in May of 2014 to create a graduate class on SDN. I reviewed several books covering SDN and finally came across this book. After reading the book, my immediate thought "Wow. These guys really get SDN." This is absolutely the best book on SDN. If you are going to be involved in SDN in any role, this book is a must read. It is extremely well written and can be understood by business leaders as well as technical contributors. Dr. Goransson and Dr. Black hit a home run with this book. I'm using this book as the text book for the SDN class I created.

Centerfolds is a wonderful collection of moments and memories shared by some former ...

When I received Centerfolds, I had just gotten home from work.
I'll just read a few pages before getting dinner.
Fast forward a couple of hours or so,
I'm sitting there with a Bic lighter reading about Arny's adventures in Mexico.
Hadn't even stopped to turn on a light.

Centerfolds is a wonderful collection of moments and memories shared by some former Playmates
and photographers. The women, the 'girls next door', belong to a very exclusive sorority.
These glimpses are sometimes funny, some a little scary, but all very entertaining.
The stories read as if the Playmates were sitting across from you, recalling their memories.

Kudos to Charlotte Kemp for a fantastic job of collecting their stories.
There are notes from her throughout the book as well as her own memories.
I imagine there must be a lot of work involved with putting something like this together,
but I hope she's up for a Centerfolds 2.

I read this very well written book as Charlotte shares with us memories of her and our other favorite Playmates. I recommend this book as I feel like I personally know these Playmates better than ever. Charlotte is a very good writer ! Love this book ! :)

Centerfolds befdore it seemed like evryone in on public media

If you grew up in the sixties through eighties the woman in Playboy were stunning. No internet where everything is available. For high class beautiful women Playboy was it. Some of the interviews are sobering as not all the things that were associated with Playboy were always good. It appears in at least some cases sleeping with Hugh Hefner led to being a centerfold. Hefner portrays himself as a feminist not in this book.If you want a glance at a simpler time where being a Playmate was something special or you remember these woman the book will be worth reading.

Much-needed comprehensive theory of rationality

"The Architecture of Reason" is a well-respected work that is somewhat unique in the current philosophic literature. Most works on rationality focus on one of two aspects - (a) epistemology and theoretical reason, concerned with justification and its connection to knowledge, or (b) practical reason, largely the subject matter of meta-ethics and moral psychology. Perhaps because of the different natures of the two fields, and the divergence in the literature, relatively few authors write with an appreciation for both.

Robert Audi, who moved from Nebraska to take the Business Ethics chair at Notre Dame shortly after writing this book, is one of the few philosophers with a deep understanding of both fields and the fascinating connections between them. This is a work dedicated to exploring the structural parallels between the theoretical and practical spheres of reason, how they are similar, and how they are different. Audi advocates an internalist view, based in what he calls a moderate, flexible foundationalism.

The work is divided into eight chapters, each roughly 30 pages in length. Chapters 1-2 provide an overview of Audi's view of theoretical reason, while chapters 3-6 detail the structural parallels between theoretical reason and practical reason, as well as the basis of concepts such as reasonableness and altruism. Chapter 7 provides an extremely insightful and detailed discussion of relativity in various forms (a concept to often bandied about without precision, even in philosophy). Chapter 8 concludes with a discussion of the global characteristics of a rational person, and how rationality can be viewed as something like a virtue concept.

All in all, this is a detailed and well-argued work that can act as an advanced introduction to the topics (especially for those with some background in philosophy, but perhaps only a light background in epistemology), but also is an important original contribution in its own right. It is also the only major work dedicated to a holistic treatment of both sides of rationality in contemporary philosophy, to my knowledge.

A definite maybe...

Having taken the better part of this last semester reading this book, I find myself with no strong inclination to rate this book in any particular direction.
As far as content goes it's rather thorough, Audi does manage to give a complete bottom up view of rationality. But, as he gets into the later stages of the book where the topic turns to ethical issues he gets a little presumptuous. Another issue I had was with Audi's homemade words. I recognize the fact that certain areas of philosophy have created their own technical nomenclature but some of his words are a bit of a stretch even for my liberal mind. Further, while not as hard to read as many other philosophy texts this was by no means a pleasure read, and if it had not been required reading I would have opted for more pleasurable tasks such as watching paint dry.
If you have a background in philosophy or epistemology (or are disposed to masochistic habits) I suggest you buy this book. After all, Audi does pull together his entire theory of rationality into one book, and this is no easy feat for anyone. But for those of you unaccustomed to technical, poorly written (for most philosophers, not to point a finger solely at Audi) philosophy texts, I say find an easier to read introductory book somewhere else.

Passion and poetry at it's most intense.

Many years ago, I heard John Trudell speak for the first time...I was ten. I was intrigued by the way the words flowed out, ordinary words forged in fire and flame, in sycronicity with the passion of the cause. Years later, I was gifted "Tribal Voice," and later still, found "Aka Grafiti Man" near the side of the road, where I wandered at the time. Today, many years later, I still find solace in the passion of the spoken word. These writings can only be decribed as a symphony from the heart, and truth, as only a surviver can tell the tale.

An Excellent Book

I really liked this book. It is insightful, and Trudell explains Native Issues so that just about anyone can understand what is really going on. I would recommend this book to all people who care about Native rights, free thought and Mother Earth.
