Music meets Movies in this sweet college romance from the bestselling author of Cinder & Ella.
“So this is what a Pearl-approved guy looks like.” She shook her head once and cracked a smile. “She’s got good taste, I’ll give her that. You’re an odd mix of sexy and adorable. Don’t see that often.”
I was a little taken aback by the compliment, if that’s even what it was. She may have just been stating what she considered to be fact. She laughed at my surprise and held out her hand to me. “Nice to meet you. I’m Jordan Kramer.”
I’d been afraid of that. “You’re a girl.”
Jordan laughed. “That’s what it says on my birth certificate, but I’m really glad you were able to figure it out without needing to read it.”
Nope. I definitely didn’t need that.
NYU freshman Nate Anderson is a triplet who is desperate to escape his wild and crazy brothers. After they screw things up for him one too many times, Nate flees his housing situation and takes the first available room for rent as far from his brothers as he can get.
Enter his new roommate Jordan--a quirky LA girl who believes that everything in life has already been done in the movies. In this heartfelt tale of love, friendship and family, Nate learns how to deal with his new adult life using Hollywood films as a guide.
***This book is part of a multi-author project that features one recurring character—the match maker—but it is a STAND-ALONE novel.***
Content label: This is a new adult novel, however it is also a clean romance. Content rating is PG. There is little to no swearing with mild innuendo. Though a sexual relationship is implied there is nothing more than kissing in the book.

More Than Five Stars!!!
By Char
I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED this book. There have been books that I have loved recently, but this is one of the best. It’s been a while since I have found a book that has made me react as much as this book does. Kelly Oram crafted a story that made me laugh aloud, smile, yell at characters and want to completely cry at one point.
If We Were a Movie is written from the guy’s point of view which I loved. Most books are from the female perspective and this was a refreshing change.
Nate Anderson is a cute, charming, funny, smart and dedicated NYU freshman majoring in music and a triplet. He shares a cramped dorm room with his two wild and crazy brothers, who do not take school quite as seriously as Nate does. After his brothers antics cause Nate more trouble than he can deal with, and mess things up for him one too many times, Nate flees his housing situation in search for some freedom. He ends up taking the first available room for rent that happens to be as far from his brothers as he can get.
Jordan is a cute, funny, loyal, loving and quirky LA girl who compares everything in life to a movie. She works at the local coffee house, is majoring in film and wants to be the next Steven Spielberg. She is in search of someone to share her apartment since her roommate ran off with Jordon’s ex-boyfriend.
Like all great romantic comedies, the main characters each venture through the book with entertaining encounters and misadventures. Nate discovers that his new living arrangement has difficulties of its own and Jordan learns that things are not always what they seem.
This was a great story line featuring well developed characters that anyone would want to be friends with. The secondary characters were awesome too. Loved Nate’s brothers, Colin and Pearl. I really liked that both Nate and Jordon were slightly flawed and had to overcome challenges throughout the book. The movie and music references were so awesome and I found myself wanting to watch and listen to what was mentioned.
I wish I could give this book more than five stars! * * * * * *

Not my favorite Kelly Oram
By new mom
Let me start by saying how much I love Kelly Oram. I've probably read half a dozen of her books and loved them all. This one is the lone exception.
Each chapter shares the title with a movie and many of them were unknown to me. Periodically, there's a scene where the two main characters try to decide what movie their lives are copying at that moment. I love movies, but I thought this gimmick got very old, very fast. It felt too much like the author was forcing the story to fit a pre-existing movie script rather than happening naturally.
I also really struggled to like the main character Nate. He was a very sweet guy, but his girlfriend treated him horribly and he simply put up with it, even when his friends and family pointed it out to him. I kept waiting for him to man up, but it took too long to happen.
I think I'm going to go back and reread something else by Ms. Oram so I can remind myself how much I really do enjoy her writing.

Love, Actually!
By Bookin' Around Town
I never really know how to start a review. Some say just say "I liked it" or "I loved it" and nothing more needs to be said. I wish it were that easy or that simple. If We Were a Move, was the first book I’ve read by this particular author. From what I'm told, it is part of a multi-author series. I have not read the others yet, but figured I'd give this a go. I'll admit, this isn't typically the genre I find myself reading often, but as a reviewer, I like to step outside of my comforts and go for something different. I am glad I went with my gut.
The book did start slower than I prefer, however after continuing to read I can see why. The author needed to give the readers a chance to understand the conflict (internal and external) the MC faced and the intro into his personality allowed us to see why a particular resolution comes to fruition.
Nate is dealing with finding his own identity separate from his two brothers. Since they are triplets, they each are different, but Nate happens to be the most passive and often times a pushover. Drove me crazy lol. Coupled with that was his overly aggressive girlfriend, who again with his brothers irritated me to no end. Again they were all of 18 and 19, so I get it. I'm sure I irritated a few people at that age.
The story continues as Nate meets Pearl and life begins to take an alternate path. As Nate takes a leap of faith, he takes an opportunity he can't turn down and meets someone who has such an impact on him, that we see him develop into a man. A man who is able to overcome. A man who decides not to be defeated and to do whatever it takes to make his dreams come true. In the midst of that he not only finds himself, but also finds something he didn't know was missing...
The fun part of this book was the movie and music references. Some of them were favorites, and some were ones that I actually added to my “to be watched” and “to be downloaded” list. I love Jordan just for the movie references and a few other things too lol.
Overall, this was a cute read. It wasn’t overly sensual, but hinted just enough to make it PG-16 (if there were such a thing).
Happy Reading!
